June 26th - June 29th, 2008
The Kapalua Wine & Food Festival was first conceived 23 years ago by noted winemaker Robert Mondavi, who invited friends and fellow wine lovers to Kapalua to enjoy the wines, foods, and Maui life. The festival is held at the Kapalua resort, and features cooking demonstrations, winemaker dinners, and wine tasting seminars throughout the four days. Guests will also have opportunities to interact with some of the world's finest and most famous chefs.
Activities and events during the festival include the Seafood Festival, which features Hawaii's top chefs creating fantastic seafood creations; the Grand Tasting, which showcases hundreds of wines from the participating wineries; and Winemaker dinners which are held at various restaurants throughout the festival.
Hawaii chefs who have participated at past Kapalua festivals include Alan Wong, Roy Yamaguchi and Beverly Gannon - all founding members of Hawaii Regional Cuisine.
